The Family Center for Adults and Couples

Despite the common belief that alterations in family structure and increased conflict have the most profound impact on the well-being of children, Jewish Family Services (JFS) acknowledges the unfairness of this assumption. Parental separation, divorce or other change in family circumstances can negatively affect all family members, including the individual who instigated the change. We acknowledge that regardless of age or position within a family, members are affected whether they had input into the change(s) or not.

Separation, divorce, or other family issues (adjustments in custody, placement, etc.) are periods of transition that can cause each person affected to experience a myriad of emotions. The skilled and professional counselors at JFS can help manage these difficult emotions, overcome negative thinking, establish boundaries, improve relationships and communication, negotiate decision making and assist in identifying solutions to common and specific problems.

Our goal

Our goal is to help support families through these difficult periods of dramatic change and assist them in minimizing the negative impact that changing familial circumstances has the potential to cause.

We offer a variety of programs designed to help families through these transitions. For more information on any of these services, please call 414-225-1333.
