JFS Plans Annual Meeting with the Grand Opening of Bradley Crossing and the Village of Brown Deer Community Center

BROWN DEER, WI – Jewish Family Services, Inc. (JFS) invites the community to a three-fold event: the JFS Annual Meeting, the official opening of Bradley Crossing Supportive Housing Community and the opening of the Lois and Tom Dolan Village of Brown Deer Community Center. The combined event is scheduled for Thursday, March 21st, at 4355-4375 W. Bradley Road in Brown Deer. Tours of Bradley Crossing and the Community Center will start at 4:00pm, followed by the Recognition Program at 5:00pm, featuring keynote speaker Barbara Beckert, Milwaukee Office Director of Disability Rights Wisconsin.

Bradley Crossing is a 60-unit apartment complex that opened its doors to residents in November 2012.  Bradley Crossing’s development was a major collaborative effort with construction funded through WHEDA Section 42 tax credits, an equity investment by PNC Bank, support from Milwaukee County, Movin’ Out, the Village of Brown Deer, the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Foundation, the Stackner Foundation and private donors.  The Helen Bader Foundation awarded a two-year grant to JFS Housing, Inc. to help support an Inclusion Coordinator at Bradley Crossing and Milwaukee County has awarded a grant for Peer support.  Additional support for programming has been received from the Daniel M. Soref Charitable Trust.

The Lois and Tom Dolan Village of Brown Deer Community Center is an approximate 6,000 square foot multi-purpose facility, made possible through the generous support of the Lois and Tom Dolan Family and supporters of the Brown Deer Foundation. The Community Center helps to anchor the revitalizing Bradley Road corridor, an emerging mixed use destination with 120 new apartments and over 20,000 square feet of fully occupied offices and retail. The Community Center will be managed by the Brown Deer Park and Recreation Department, which is programming many new activities and classes for the space. In addition to serving as a new polling location and site for the Milwaukee County Meal Program, the Community Center will also be open for rental to civic groups and the general public for special events.

To attend this grand opening event, please RSVP by March 18th by email to annual@jfsmilw.org or call 414-225-1373. For more information, please visit our website at www.jfsmilw.org.
