Jewish Family Services Presents Luncheon of Champions Honoring Community Heroes

Jewish Family Services, Inc. (JFS) is excited to announce their annual spring Luncheon of Champions event on Thursday, June 14 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. at the Italian Conference Center, where the agency will recognize individuals who make it their personal missions to live and teach community involvement.

Doris H Chortek, former Greater Milwaukee Foundation Board Chair and JFS Past President, and Sarah M. Dean, former Executive Director of Faye McBeath Foundation and former President & CEO of Mt. Sinai Medical Center, will be the recipients of this year’s Women of Distinction award. Both women remain dedicated community volunteers advocating for many issues that improve the lives of Milwaukee’s citizens.

The agency will also take a moment at this year’s Luncheon to recognize its Immediate Past Chair, Nathan Fishbach, of blessed memory, who passed away in September, 2011. Nathan proudly served on the JFS Board of Directors from 1990 – 2010.

Sylvan Leabman, President/CEO of JFS says, “This event will provide an opportunity for us to highlight the leadership and commitment that Dori , Sarah and Nathan have displayed. We want to recognize them for their contributions to the Milwaukee community through philanthropy, volunteerism, and social awareness that continues to help meet the evolving needs of individuals and families.”

The cost for individual tickets is $50 and a variety of corporate sponsorships are available; read more here on the lives of the people being honored and view and print the RSVP form here. The event is open to the entire community. Click here to view and print the Tribute/Sponsorship form online.
